Star Wars: The Force Awakens Locations

It isn’t everyday that you find out your favorite place in England was used as locations for Star Wars.  And then days later in Ireland I took a boat trip and then see a familiar island and the boat driver announces this island may look familiar to some of you.  This was the location used for the ending of the latest Star Wars movie.  You know where Rey is reaching out for Luke.  Well I guess that explains all the Star Wars merchandise on sale in the town.

Lake Derwentwater in England was used in a fight scene as seen in the YouTube video below and from the picture.  This is located in Lake District.  Below is a photo from Catbell Fell after hiking.  It is a long panoramic stitch as you can see how much beauty is in the Lake District and why it is my favorite place in England.

The last scene was filmed in Skellig, Ireland in County Kerry.  You can see the photos of the island below in which a monastery was founded in the 6th century. Here’s looking forward to Episode VIII where the Jedi is supposed to end.
