This is Shots by Shinobi’s Cosplay Spotlight: Valentine’s Day edition.  I first met John in 2017 at MCM Comic Con London with no shirt on and it has always been a pleasure seeing and getting to know him since then.  He has fallen in love with another cosplayer who is also amazing since then.  They are couples goals to the infinity and deserve to be the Valentine’s Cosplay spotlight.  When I met John he was cosplaying the Joker with no shirt on and covered in tattoos.  He was quite pasty…or was it tasty.  It is worth mentioning that John is one of my main inspirations when it comes to the… Read More

I first met Helen in her Xena Warrior cosplay which is and still remains the best I have ever seen. Her Star Trek Discovery cosplay group was so good that even the costume designer commented on their photo on Instagram. Her skills working with foam are impressive to say the least. I have been fortunate enough to become friends with her last year and we have had some great times since. She was the first Proxima Midnight cosplayer I had seen and she made it even before the movie came out. Helen was chosen to wear it at an Avengers Infinity War Fan Event and was featured on stage with… Read More

Shots by Shinobi Cosplay Spotlight: Cosplay Dad UK

I first met Craig while Cosplaying as Yondu as his daughter was cosplaying Rocket at MCM Birmingham about a year ago.  We had already been following each other on the gram.  Since then we have become good friends and been a part of some awesome cosplay group team ups.  We have been lucky enough to share the stage with real life Avengers while cosplaying our favourite characters.  He suited up as Hawkeye.  Hawkeye was obviously the missing piece in Infinity War.  I am sure he would have had the perfect arrow shot in the film.  You may have seen him as Yondu or Hawkeye but we had planned for months… Read More

Shots By Shinobi Cosplay Spotlight: Wonder Kat

I first saw Katya as Wonder Woman in an advertisement for MCM London I believe.  I couldn’t believe just how great she looked.  I honestly thought she could be Wonder Woman.  I’m pretty sure Gal Gadot would approve.   I think the next time I saw her and the first time we actually met she was cosplaying Rita Repulsa from Power Rangers and she absolutely smashed it.  To be honest I haven’t seen a cosplay that she has done that she didn’t kill.  I finally was able to catch her in a Wonder Woman cosplay and it is one of my favorite photo edits I have ever done.  She actually looked… Read More

Shots by Shinobi Cosplay Spotlight: Swaggy

I started following this dude named swaggycosplayer on IG many months ago and he just reminded me of a crazy cousin.  That cousin that always made you laugh by just being exactly who they are and then becomes that crazy uncle. Honestly Swaggy is a fool and if you followed him you would know it.  He just so happens to be an awesome cosplayer and all of his characters have their own swag to them.  Just recently I finally met Swaggy at Dragon Con and he didn’t disappoint.  Swaggy is from Cleveland and he is definitely about that life.  He is a non-stop party and I wanted to take a… Read More

Shots by Shinobi Cosplay Spotlight: Kisa

I met Kisa last year at MCM Birmingham and since then we have become friends.  She is one of the most talented builders I have ever seen.  I have seen her put together dresses overnight and props.  We have had some awesome experiences this year from attending the European Black Panther premiere, meeting Ryan Coogler, having Lupita was our group pic in their group chat, and being on the red carpet with the cast of Avengers Infinity War.  Let’s take some time and get to know Kisa.  What got you into cosplaying? My mother took me to my first convention, Sunnycon a few years ago, and when I saw everyone… Read More

Shots By Shinobi Cosplay Spotlight: God of Thunder UK

I saw this guy all over Instagram named @godofthunderuk at placed near me and I just always managed to miss him.  He was the best Thor cosplay I had ever seen.  It was a must that we work together to create some amazing images.  Late last year after we talked he invited me to take part in a Thor battle shoot as a photographer.  Even though it was freezing it was an amazing experience with an awesome experience.  The God of Thunder also asked me to join the North East Avengers (@northeastavengers) to be the Black Panther of the group.  I couldn’t say no and if I did I would… Read More

Shots by Shinobi Cosplay Spotlight: Graceless Cosplay

In May 2017 I was fortunate to meet Grace at London Comic Con.  She was cosplaying Targaryen from Game of Thrones and it was awesome and I don’t even watch the show.  The next day she cosplayed Selina Kyle aka Catwoman and really capture the character.  I went on to see a photo of her cosplaying Nebula from Guardians of the Galaxy that same weekend but was unfortunate miss photographing that cosplay.  Grace puts a lot of effort into her cosplay and is great at capturing the characters she cosplays and for that reason she is my Cosplay Spotlight for February.  Keep reading to discover why she cosplays and how long… Read More

Shots by Shinobi Cosplay Spotlight: Ugo

Last May at MCM Comic Con in London I met a cosplayer that I am pleased to call a friend today. I was just finishing photographing a cosplayer when this dude dressed up as Frozone and walks up and says “Honey, Where is my super suit?” I was like dude you have to let me photograph you.  It wasn’t just the cosplay but he also captured the essence of the character.  Fast forward a few months later in October and we crossed paths again.  This time he was Neo from the Matrix and then T’Challa, Black Panther.  Then we crossed paths in November at Comic Con in Birmingham where he… Read More
