I was told last year that I missed one of the best events of the year in the United Kingdom.  People said I just had to see the bonfire and fireworks display on the stray in Harrogate.  It had gotten pretty cold on this day and it rained the previous night which meant the stray was very muddy.  If I had a dollar for every time a group of people walked past the spot where I was standing where the mud turned into quicksand.  The reactions were priceless.  Yea those wedges you have on probably were not a good idea.  Anyway I got there with some friends and a bunch of people were staring at a big fire.  Shortly after I set up my camera for the fireworks.  I made a mistake in that I had a new bracket on my camera and it didn’t quite fit on my tripod.  Well I made it work anyway and managed to capture some of the fireworks.  All in all is was a good night and it was all for charity.  See the photos of the bonfire and fireworks below.

In case you are wondering what Guy Fawkes night is it is a bonfire night held annually on November 5th.  It is a celebration in the United Kingdom of the discovery of a plot organized by Catholic conspirators to blow up the Houses of Parliament in London in 1605.  All over the UK people light bonfires and set fireworks off.
