I went to the dentist yesterday and had a long conversation about Donald Trump with him. He is originally from Iran and recently visited home with his kids. Upon his return to Atlanta he was denied entry into the the country even though he is a citizen of the United States; along with hundreds of other immigrants. His wife was scared she would not be able to see him and they even asked for his credit card to pay for a flight to deport him back to Iran. Seriously not only were they trying to deport him but also to make him pay for it.
Trumps’ Muslim ban doesn’t even include any countries that committed terrorists attacks in the U.S. and omits countries that has. Go figure he has business interests in the countries that he omitted. Do you feel safer? No. I don’t fear people wearing hijabs; we need to ban the wearing of white hoods in America. It is a fact that white supremacists have committed more terrorists acts on American soil than Muslims. “In the 14 years since the Sept. 11 terror attacks, nearly twice as many people have been killed in the United States by white supremacists and anti-government radicals than by Muslim jihadis, according to a new study.” Terrorism by Muslims makes up one-third of 1 percent of all murders in the US. So who is the real enemy?
There were protest at many airports in America including my hometown in Atlanta where my dentist was detained. America is a country made up of immigrants. People were fine with immigrants when they were slaves and they were getting free labor. Trump along with everyone that isn’t a Native American are immigrants. Where would they be if their families were banned? He is creating a new level of hatred by using people’s fear. Is the KKK representative of all Christians? But somehow people feel ISIS represent all Muslims. Are all whites representative of slave owners? Stop stereotyping people. As someone who has been stereotyped it is wrong and breeds anger. All this after celebrating Dr. Martin Luther King , Jr. This is despicable and I will not condone this behavior as someone who has been discriminated against. His wife is an immigrant proving that sometimes immigrants take the jobs that Americans won’t do. This atrocious ban has united people all over the world and we may see a unity like none other develop because of it. Keep fighting for equality! America is supposed to stand for land of the free and opportunity right?
