Riad Relaxing in Morocco

Morocco has been on my travel wish list for a few years now.  I would always see pictures with the bright colors and I felt like it had such a distinct culture.  I finally made it to Marrakesh and it was an awesome trip.  I only went for a few days but the town was absolutely amazing for street photography.  I stayed in a nice riad within walking distance to the souk (a bazaar where all the goods are sold by locals) in the Medina.  See the view from the top of my riad.  You can see the Atlas Mountains in the distance.  You see everything from teapots to clothes… Read More

2016 Just Died, 2017 is Alive!

As 2016 ends and 2017 begins I wanted to take some time to reflect on how much progression I made this past year.  2016 was the year I became serious about photography and decided to take my passion for taking pictures from hobbyist to professional.  I learned a lot this year.  I read a lot of books, learned the exposure triangle and started shooting in manual.  I practiced a lot and I can see my hard work and determination paying off.  I have met many photographers this past year that have inspired me and also see that my skills in photography are developing quickly.  I started off doing landscape photography… Read More

Sweden: Aurora Hunting in the Arctic Circle

It has been my dream to capture the Aurora (Northern Lights) ever since I saw photos of it. This trip to Kiruna, Sweden fulfilled that dream. The 1st night of the trip Matt goes outside to smoke and comes back and says hey you all need to come check out this Aurora. Well since he is Matt and is the greatest troll I know we don’t believe him. He states no I am serious and I go check and he was telling the truth. Guess I need to believe him mor;, nah haha… His wife didn’t believe him either. Well after we drove to a place with no light pollution… Read More

The Most Wonderful Time of the Year (My New Toy)

I am treating myself to a new toy for Christmas.  I just picked up a Nikon D750, my first full frame camera and it is awesome.   I was torn between the D810 and the D750.  Both have its positives but I ended up deciding on the D750.  In my opinion it is the better overall camera and its cheaper.  The D810 seemed to be better for studio work and landscape photography which both appeal to me.  It has 36 megapixels and with that I could create some very large prints of landscapes.  Maybe the next iteration of this camera will be in my future.  One reason I decided not… Read More

Panoramic Shot

Have you ever saw a wide beautiful landscape and wanted to capture this beauty with one photo?  The answer to this is to take a panoramic shot because otherwise everything cannot fit into the frame.  On the Iphone you are able to create this by rotating with the phone while taking a picture.  If you are not using your Iphone you will have to stitch the images together.  I am going to create a panoramic shot by taking several images and stitching them together in Photoshop or Lightroom.  It is best to use a tripod to keep your camera steady but I decided to go handheld with the camera and… Read More

My Favorite Place in England

This blog post is dedicated to one of the most beautiful places I have ever seen. Lake District, England. I have taken 2 trips to the area in 3 months as I was amazed by the natural beauty picturesque landscape. The area is a photographer’s dream and a great place to hone in your skills. I last visited in the summer where the fells (small mountains) are covered with gorgeous green landscapes and there are many rivers, waterfalls and lakes to visit. On the 1st trip I stayed at this quaint B&B in Keswick owned by a lovely family that recently moved to the Lake District. I was lucky enough… Read More

Comic Con London 2016

For anyone that knows me I have always been into comics and science fiction movies.  Few of you have know that I had aspirations of creating my own comics and video games.  Once in middle school I actually did create some characters and my 1st Comic Con and the hero’s name was Cop Lemonhead.  You can use your imagination to come up with what this character may have looked like.  Well I haven’t realized my dream of creating a comic but it is never too late.  Maybe one day I will achieve this dream.  Now to the main event.  This was my 1st Comic Con and what a great experience… Read More

Dragon Con 2016

Dragon Con was definitely a once in a lifetime experience if you like cosplay or science fiction characters in general.  It takes place over Labor Day Weekend and is one of the largest science fiction conventions in the United States.  The event is so big that it spans 5 hotels in downtown Atlanta.  I was blown away by the detail of many of the costumes that many created.  You could tell that it was a lifestyle and not just a thing to do every once in a while.  I was planning only to attend the convention on Friday but I decided to also attend Saturday after being so impressed with… Read More

See Through Shinobi’s Lens

Who is Shinobi? Truthfully, I am someone that has wanted get into photography for a long time but always stuck to point and shoot cameras.  Over the last 5 years I have spent a lot of time traveling (30+ countries) and really didn’t think the photos really captured the beauty of the places I visited.  So I decided to buy my first DSLR in 2015 and attack my passion for photography.  Starting out I read a lot of tips on the web and watched a couple of youtube videos and just started shooting.  I was amazed at the progress I made so quickly and felt like I could actually fulfill this creative dream I… Read More

All Lives Matter: Restrictions Apply

My mind takes me to the X-Men. Are we seen as mutants? Why can’t we be treated equally? We have to understand that yes some cops are bad, not all blacks are criminals, all whites are not racists, all Mexicans are not illegal and all Muslims are not terrorists. Until you truly understand this and stop judging people before getting to know them things won’t change. I understand most of you may not have friends of other races and may have had bad experiences with them but they are NOT representative of ALL. There is corruption in many police departments and in the judicial system to include prejudices so why… Read More
